At New Song Community Church our goal is that the church would be a place where
people can come as they are.  We believe that the power of God is real for our lives
today, just as is promised in the Bible, to heal, deliver, and save us physically,
emotionally, and spiritually. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit in the
church today with all of his gifts - including the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence
of speaking in tongues. We believe that no one is unreachable with the good news of
Jesus Christ expressed by our loving Heavenly Father.  Our Sunday message is
designed to lift you up, not tear you down. We think that church should be an exciting
place to come to. We have a vision for a church where all are welcome: single,
married, divorced, whatever race or color. A community where people feel cared for
and loved. We firmly believe that God's Word, the Bible, has answers for your
everyday life and that Jesus Christ is our only hope of salvation from our sin.

New Song Community Church started on Easter Sunday, April 7, 1996 with a small
core group of 12 and has grown to 175 that consider New Song their church home
today. Brent & Debi Hanson felt God working on their heart nearly two years earlier to
start a church in this area that would meet people right where they were, as Jesus did.
We believe that we have a powerful vision. We encourage people to grow deeper in
their faith through our Circle of Life Classes and our small groups. Brent Hanson is the
Senior Pastor of New Song. Debi Hanson is the Children's Ministry Leader, and Glen
Milligan is the Youth Ministry Leader. New Song Community Church is an independent
church but it belongs to the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies (
www.fcaequip.net )-
a diverse group of churches both traditional and contemporary across the country that
come together for accountability and support. The churches in the Fellowship have a
broad variety of styles but share the common beliefs in our statement of faith on the
Beliefs page. New Song also belongs to The Apostolic Network For Global
Awakening (
www.globalawakening.com ). TANGA is lead by Randy Clark who was
used by God in thr Toronto Outpouring and has a heart to equip churches to operate
in supernatural signs and wonders today as taught throughout Jesus' and the apostles
ministry.

New Song has a great vision for the future. With the move into our own building, we
are having growing pains. God has allowed us to move into a former bar to have a
good influence on our community. We serve a new spirit now! Plans are in place to
expand the current building in the near future. We are also in the process of expanding
ministries and staff as finances allow. God has done so much for New Song. This is
His church and we are thankful for what He is doing and will do in the future as we trust
in Him. During our recent "Preparing The Way" capital campaign we outlined some
goals that we believe are God ordained for the future.

- Seeing New Song reach 300 that call this their church home by 2008.

-To continue to reach and develop people into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ
in the Lakes Area and beyond.

-To give the equivalent of at least 10% of New Song's General Fund Income to
Missions around the world by 2008. (Based on 2004 General Fund this would be at
least $21,000, but would increase as the church grows)

-To send out missions teams at least annually to extend the good news of Jesus
Christ around the world.

-To develop a 24 hour prayer center to pray for the needs of people in the Lakes Area
and beyond, and God's mission around the world.

-To develop a network of small groups led by lay ministers who will meet the spiritual,
physical, and emotional needs of people in the Lakes Area and beyond.

-To expand New Song's youth and children's ministries to include adequate facilities
for increased activities and ministries to the young people in the Lakes Area.

-To either expand New Song's facilities on its current site or purchase facilities or
property that will meet New Song's current and future needs for ministry.

When Jesus left this earth, he said something very important to the disciples. He told
them to

"Go, and make disciples. (Matt. 28:19). Jesus gave his disciples a mission. All of us
need a mission to bring focus and purpose to our lives.

We believe that what Jesus said to the disciples applies to us today. We have
modernized the language but the meaning of the mission is the same.

Our mission is to see people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. That is
our mission. That is what drives us. We want to see people that do not have a
personal relationship with Jesus Christ become fully devoted followers of Him. Jesus
set the example for us when he spent time with the disciples and taught them how the
Kingdom of God functions. This mission helps to guide our purpose. For New Song
this mission leads us to a five-fold purpose. The purpose helps to direct us more
specifically in what we do as a church, and what we should make our priorities.

New Song's Five - Fold Purpose

A Place where God is Exalted
The number one purpose of the church is to worship God. The Bible says, "Worship
the Lord your God, and serve him only" (Matt. 4:10). When we express our love to God
we are worshipping and exalting Him.

A Place Where Love is Supreme
Jesus said to "Love your neighbor as yourself." Later in the book of I Corinthians, Paul
expresses the importance of love by saying that the greatest of all things that will
endure is love. That love must be expressed to others. It is supreme to the functioning
of the church as a community that truly loves on another.

A Place to Grow
Part of what Jesus told the disciples on the day that he ascended into heaven was to
"teach them to obey what I have commanded." New Song is a place that you can
grow, and learn what the Kingdom of God is all about. As we allow the Kingdom of
God to rule and reign in our hearts, we will grow in our spiritual walk with Christ.

A Place to Serve
Jesus said that if you want to be great in God's Kingdom, you need to be the servant
of all. When we serve others, we demonstrate the love of Christ to them. When we
demonstrate love we are ministering to others needs and God works through us to
accomplish His work on the earth.

A Place to Share
With the World Jesus said to go and share the good news. The good news is that
God truly loves us and has a great plan for our lives. Jesus Christ has made a way for
us to be saved from judgment by his death on the cross. We have a responsibility to
share this good news with the world.
